The Indiana District Youth Gathering is an annual high school youth gathering, sponsored by the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It's purpose is to provide an opportunity for youth to gathering in fellowship, worship Jesus, grow in their faith, and use their God-given gifts for service.

Check-In INFORMATION

  1. Plan to arrive to 400 Toulouse Steet, New Orleans, LA between 9:15 - 9:30 AM on Friday, July 19th

  2. Send your PAL to the Check-In table marked by a Indiana District banner and talk to a Indiana District Task Force member that will be wearing a green LCMS Youth Gathering Indiana District. There you will receive a packet containing name tags, event information including our District Challenge, beads that will represent your lunch group assignment, and one Cafe Du Monde gift certificate per participant to be used as a gift to someone not attending the Indiana District event.

  3. Pass out the beads, name tags, and event information (all event information can be found on this website). You can pass out the Cafe Du Monde gift certificates at the event or wait until later.

  4. Go back to your group and wait for the group photo.

  5. Smile.

    • Take in breathtaking vistas of the Mississippi River and the New Orleans skyline

    • Soak up the soulful sounds of a live jazz music ensemble

  • Savory Cuisine

    • Dine on a delectable array of authentic savory New Orleans dishes

  • Engine Room

    • Tour the museum-quality engine room onboard the last authentic Steamboat on the Mississippi River and learn about the histry of the steam powered engines.

  • Gift Shop

    • Browse and/or purchase some of your first souveniers to remind you of this amazing event.

  • CLOTHESPINs, BRACELETS, and CARDS

    • Create messages on clothespins that you can give away to the other 19,000+ participants

    • Make an ENDURE bracelet that you can gift someone or take for yourself

    • Sign cards for a couple’s anniversary, a youth worker who attend because of a cancer diagnosis, and the youth worker whose wife recently passed

    • New Orleans classic red beans atop an bed of rice with andouille sausage

    • Traditional Louisiana dish with chekcn, sausage, rice, and Creole Seasoning

NOTES:

  • Salad will be on the line.  Also, Vegetarian Red Beans & Rice are available by request for anyone needing a vegetarian option.  They just ask the server.  

  • Participants are allowed to bring their own food and drinks onto the Natchez as long as they are not in glass containers or bottles and does not contain peanuts. We also will not have access to refrigration, a freezer or microwave/fryer
