The Indiana District Youth Gathering (IDYG) is an annual weekend event held in the first half of November. This Gathering is sponsored the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The main purpose of the Gathering is to provide the youth of our churches with an opportunity to grow spiritually while having fun with fellow teen Christians.
A variety of activities are planned for each Gathering: meeting friends, playing games, studying God’s Word, hearing great speakers, talking in small groups, singing with a pop/rock band, enjoying some great Christian entertainment, and worshipping in a variety of settings. Some of the best parts of the weekend are the unplanned times when youth and caring adults chat and play together.
In the twenty years that this Gathering has been happening, it has grown to about 450 participants. We have moved from the camp setting to a hotel setting because of size requirements. Since the District covers the whole state of Indiana and some of Kentucky, the Gathering has been held in Indianapolis as a central location.
This website has been established to provide youth as well as youth leaders with the information and forms they need to participate in this exciting Gathering.

The Planning Team for the Indiana District Youth Gathering (IDYG) is comprised of youth workers from several churches within the District. With input from participants, the Team meets bimonthly during the year leading up to the Gathering. They pick a theme and a theme Bible verse, then develop the programming around that theme.
