The Indiana District Youth Gathering is an annual high school youth gathering, sponsored by the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It's purpose is to provide an opportunity for youth to gathering in fellowship, worship Jesus, grow in their faith, and use their God-given gifts for service.

DISTRICT CHALLENGE

ALL Indiana District participants of the LCMS Youth Gathering will have the chance throughout the entire week to win prizes in the first ever Super District Challenge! Complete any and/or all of the missions below, each completed mission increases one’s chance to win one of several prizes including a $250 prize for a youth room upgrade, ear buds, a Stanley with NOLA decor, Cafe Du Monde playing cards, and more! . More missions you complete, the more chances to be randomly chosen. One (1) submission per mission. Winners will be announced on instagram!

MISSIONS BEFORE COMING TO THE YOUTH GATHERING | WINNER SELECTED JULY 19TH

  1. Follow us on Instagram @indianadistrictyouthministry. Someone could win JUST FOR FOLLOWING US!

  2. Send the text message “ENDURE!” to 317-572-7114 (Indiana District Youth Ministry’s Gathering Hotline) and mention your home church’s name and city! Someone could win JUST BY SENDING US A TEXT!

  3. Take a fun picture of your entire group heading to New Orleans and share it to us at 317-572-7114

  4. Shoot a short video telling us why YOU are coming to the LCMS Youth Gathering and send it to 317-572-7114 and/or tag us on an instagram post with the video (@indianadistrictyouthministry)

  5. Take a fun picture or video of you and an adult leader and thank them for taking you to the Gathering on a post and tag us and/or send it to 317-572-7114!

MISSIONS AT THE DISTRICT EVENT | WINNERS SELECTED JULY 19TH

  1. Take a video of you and other rocking to the band on the top floor, submit video on instagram mentioning/tagging us. Extra points if it’s a lip sync!

  2. Take a picture with one of your prayer partners (Double your chances of winning if you get a second prayer partner in a pic!) submit picture to the IDYM text line AND tag/mention @indianadistrictyouthminsitry on instragram in the photo! (All members can use that pic for the contest)!

  3. Make a clothespin and record yourself trying to pin your adult leader! Submit video on instagram and tag/mention us.

  4. Take a picture of you and some of your friends with the New Orleans skyline in the background. Text us the picture and tag us on instagram!

  5. SUPER DISTRICT CHALLENGE! Find and correctly answer all 10 questions found that can be found on sheets of paper on the ferry bot. Unscramble the letters to make it a New Orleans word or phrase and text us your answers and the unscrambled word to us by the end of the event.

  6. Thank the captain, the band, or a staff member! (No points, this is just a nice, Christ-like thing to do.

  7. Sign the cards (small font please). To find out more information about the cards, please click on Project INDure.

  8. Make a small video of a group of students saying “Endure!” and text it to us and/or mention/tag us on instagram.

  9. Even though you may not know him, record a bunch of students recording what they love about LCMS Youth Gathering Director Mark Kiessling with funny made-up facts or qualities about him. (Key--Zling is the pronounciation) And then text us!

  10. Find a doppleganger on the boat and tell us who you think they look like by tagging us and mentioning the dopplegangers name on the pic.

MISSIONS DURING THE ENTIRE LCMS YOUTH GATHERING | WINNERS SELECTED JULY 23RD

  1. Record yourself reading a bible verse and why it’s important to you and text us the video!  Be sure to mention your first name and the church you represent! Send it to us via text and/or mention/tag us on instagram.

  2. Record a short video of a dance routine to one of the Gathering Songs with at least 2 other people from other states. Tag @indianadistrictyouthminisry on instragram

  3. Take a picture of you giving your Cafe Du Monde gift certificate to someone NOT from the Indiana District event (could be a waiter, a YAV, FLAME, another youth group from another state, another person behind your big group ordering a meal, etc.) and ask them how the group can pray for them tonight. Let them know Jesus loves them! Tag us on instagram!

  4. Send us a picture of your group on your service event and text it to us and tag us on instagram!

  5. Send us a picture of your group in bible study and text us and tag us on instagram.

  6. Send us a video of your group dancing at the FLAME, Rend Collective, or the Youth Gathering House Band Concerts

  7. Send us a picture of you doing something New Orleans and text us and tag us on instagram.

  8. Take a video with a speaker you heard and tell THEM what you learned about your faith, then text it to us!

  9. There will be a prize for BEST PICTURE OF THE GATHERING! Send your BEST picture you’ve taken to us!

  10. On Sunday and Monday, record a video telling us about a session you loved and why you loved it. Be sure to mention who you are and what church you represent! Either text it to us or tag us on instagram!

  1. Send us a testimony of your weekend at the Gathering let us know what you learned about your faith in Jesus!
